Brittany Kachalia, MS, LCMHC
Deciding to seek therapy is a brave first step in healing. Whatever has brought you here, and wherever you have come from, please know that you are welcome. I believe that counseling is for everyone; it is completely normal to feel the need for support when life feels heavy.
My work is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep belief in your inherent capacity for growth. I view therapy as a safe, collaborative space where we can uncover the "why" behind your struggles and build the "how" for your future.
I’m more than just a therapist; I’m a mom, a partner, and a friend. I understand that our well-being is shaped by our unique identities, our communities, and our environments. I honor your lived experience and look forward to working together to create the healthy, positive changes you envision for yourself.
I have a deep commitment to providing high-level, evidence-based trauma care. Unlike basic introductory courses, my background includes extensive advanced EMDR training and ongoing professional consultation. I am currently pursuing formal EMDR Certification, a rigorous process that requires hundreds of hours of clinical practice and direct supervision by EMDR experts. This advanced path ensures that when we work together, you are receiving the most refined and effective techniques available for processing trauma and building resilience.
With over 12 years of experience across private practice and higher education, I specialize in supporting individuals, women, and mothers through:
Complex Trauma & Resilience: Helping you move from survival to safety.
Maternal Mental Health: Navigating the identity shifts of motherhood and parenthood.
Mood & Anxiety: Managing the "what-ifs" of depression and anxiety.
Self-Exploration: Building confidence and navigating life's major transitions.
Master’s in Clinical Counseling: East Carolina University
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
EMDR Trained & Certification Candidate
I was born and raised in North Carolina, and I currently live in Greenville with my family. I believe that to show up fully for others, we must also nurture ourselves. When I am not in the therapy room, you can usually find me:
At the gym: I’m a fan of strength training and the mental clarity it brings.
Getting lost in a book: I’m always looking for a good story or a new perspective.
Moving outside: I love going for long walks or just being out in nature to reset.
Exploring: I enjoy trying new restaurants and finding great food in our community.
Resting: Most importantly, I’m a big believer in the power of doing absolutely nothing—giving myself the space to simply be.
